Singer Cher Llloyd was excited to be attending the event. “I think, for me, it’s being in a room with such creative and inspiring people. There’s a lot of familiar faces here for me. I work along side these people. It’s really a great event for everyone to get together again, you know, and see each other,” she told TheKnockturnal.com.
When asked about her next project, she share “I’ve had two records out already, so this is my third. And for me everything takes time. I haven’t put a time limit on this record and really I get inspiration from everything — from the music I listen to at home and the people I meet on the street.”

Talk about the song “I Bet My Life.”
Dan Reynolds: It’s about relationships and sometimes a relationship that you may have may be strained, but it may also be the most important thing in your life. It’s actually a song about my mom and we kind of hit heads quite a bit growing up. As I got older I appreciated the hardship a little bit more. It’s kind of reflecting on that.
What was the process of writing this song? Can you tell us how this came about?
Dan Reynolds: Yeah. Wayne sent me a guitar riff.
Wayne Sermon: Dan said, “Hey, just send me some acoustic guitar.” A lot of our demos are really big sounding. Sometimes it’s nice, he was just like, “I just want something simple.” I just sent him a simple guitar part. The rest is history. That ended poorly, I’m sorry.
Are you working on new music and would you collab with Taylor Swift?
Dan Reynolds: We are on break right now. We’ve been touring for five years so we’re kind of taking some time off, but we love Taylor. I went out on the road with her and sang in Detroit and she’s a sweetheart.
Andy Grammer was honored for his smash “Honey, I’m Good.”
How excited are you to be honored?
Andy Grammer: It’s a huge honor. We’re both songwriters and to get to be around so many talented songwriters is really a special treat.
Aijia: It’s like our Oscar night.
How excited are you about “Honey, I’m Good”? That was a huge hit.
Andy Grammer: So wonderful. Any time you have something that goes that big, it’s amazing. I’m excited. I’m really excited to be here.
Do you have any favorite key moments in your career that you’re like, “Wow, I’ll never forget that.”
Andy Grammer: Getting to sing on stage with Taylor Swift was pretty cool, especially with this song in Chicago. It was awesome. She brought me out for her arena shows. It was dope.

What do you think makes her so popular and that inspires so many other people?
Andy Grammer: She’s at the top of the pop game, but she’s a writer. That girl knows how to write a song. I think that it’s good. If somebody’s going to be at the top let it be, like, an incredible writer.
Aijia: She’s really found a way to tie-in with the young girls. There’s a lot of young girls that didn’t have really a role model before and I feel like she really spoke on something that a lot of young girls are feeling. She kind of nailed it.
