The Knockurnal was on the red carpet for the New York premiere of “House of Gucci” at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
The House of Gucci press tour continued with a stop in New York on Tuesday (Nov. 16) evening. The Ridley Scott drama tells the true story of the fall of the Gucci family at the hands of Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga). When Reggiani (an outsider from humble beginnings) marries into the Gucci family, her unbridled ambition begins to unravel their legacy and triggers a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately…murder. The film, written by Roberto Bentivegna, is based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden.
Cast in attendance included Salma Hayek, Jared Leto, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston and Reeve Carney. Director Ridley Scott was also in attendance.
When we asked Lady Gaga about collaborating with Ridley and what she admired about him, she told The Knockturnal exclusively:
For me Ridley is like an architect. The script is the blueprint and then he builds the skyscraper. I love watching him, he’s a visionary. He also creates a set where the actors can truly fly. He’s got four cameras at least going at once, so you have to be prepared and he’s also so empowering to women and not just in the way that he’s respectful, but that he wants to know what you have to say.
Other notables at the premiere included Nina Garcia, Cynthia Rowley, Andy Cohen, The Blonds, Billy Porter, Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl, Giancarlo Esposito, Papoose, Karrueche Tran, Valentina Sampaio, Meg Donnelly, Jaimie Alexander, Aquaria, Marc Bouwer, BD Wong, Brooke Shields, Frederic Fekkai, Celia Weston, Chante Adams, Marina Abramović, Joshua Allen and more!
