Season 2 of Industry was released on HBO Max on August 1st.
In season one, the series followed a group of young graduates eager to work at Pierpoint & Co, one of the leading banks in London. Each graduate was competing for one of the few open positions available within the company. Season two continues with its focus on the group and Harper, played by Myha’la Herrold, and the various changes in their lives. This season demonstrates the reality of returning to work post-pandemic and adjusting to no longer working from home. At the same time, exploring aspects such as youth, growth, mentorship, and career development, creating an enticing storyline for each character. As the season progresses, viewers see how the characters become consumed by the pressure to perform as they can no longer hide behind their graduate status. They are expected to work to the highest of their abilities as investment bankers.
The Knockturnal spoke with the creators of the show, Konrad Kay and Mickey Down, as well as one of the executive producers, Jami O’Brien, about the show. They discuss the dynamic of the characters and the clash between emerging young bankers and leadership.
