Married to Medicine follows educated doctors who juggle their careers, families, and social lives. In season 8 of Married to Medicine, the viewers watch the doctors face the reality of COVID-19 and civil unrest. Television personality Dr. Contessa Metcalfe is an advocate for healthy and safe living. She recently teamed up with Kleenex brand tissue to help people stay vigilant against COVID-19. The mother of three has learned the importance of putting a barrier, such as facial tissues, between our skin and face. She believes that we must wash our hands to kill germs and other bacteria. With this partnership with Kleenex, Dr. Contessa knows that tissues are a valuable resource that we all need. Her tips to keep our bodies protected included eating fruits and vegetables, exercising, and drinking plenty of water.

When reflecting, Dr. Contessa discusses how important honesty and transparency is when giving information to the public. Dr. Contessa’s service and compassion can be felt in conversation with her. She served in the Navy as a flight surgeon which helped mold her into the woman she is today.

To conclude Black History month, the physician shares her experience at the historically black college she graduated from, Xavier University of Louisiana, and uplifts young college students to pursue their purpose. Because of Dr. Contessa’s genuine love for people, she is able to save lives and create a healthier society. With long nights and early mornings, Dr. Contessa cares about the livelihood of all people and is working to educate people about the choices they make when it comes to daily habits.
