Are you into action thrillers!? Then Netflix’s “Triple Frontier” is the movie to watch!
Having the movie begin in Colombia amidst a sea of Colombian police officers and shots flying across the scene, Triple Frontier grabs your attention immediately. Actor Oscar Isaac catches audience’s attention with his character Santiago also known as ‘Pope’ in the film, who is desperately trying to find the Colombian cartel king, Lorea. In Triple Frontier, you can catch an almost 100% Latino-filled cast with actors such as: Adria Arjona, Pedro Pascal, Oscar Isaac, among many more who showcase their bilingual abilities throughout the movie. Aside from scenes that showcase different regions in South America, a bit of the movie is filmed in the United States as well. The reason for this is because Santiago, played by Oscar Isaac, recruits his pals who all happen to be former Special Forces Operatives, into planning a heist from the most dangerous person- cartel king, Lorea.
However, things do not go as planned by Santiago and instead the five men have their loyalties, skills and morals tested throughout their journey of survival in South America. Being on the red carpet for the world premiere at Jazz at Lincoln Center, we got to speak with several of the cast about filming in South America and what that experience was like for them. Actress Adria Arjona, who plays Yovanna in Triple Frontier, told us that she felt such a “warm vibe to be able to speak her language although she wasn’t in her country”. She continued to tell us that she feels that more movies should be filmed in South America and that working with the talented director, J.C. Chandor, who challenged her on set, was her most favorite part while filming Triple Frontier.
Aside from actress Adria Arjona, Chilean-actor Pedro Pascal also loved filming in South America and he stated to the press on the red carpet that once he’s done filming his next movie in New York, he’s going to vacation in Colombia as soon as possible!
Triple Frontier is an action-packed thriller that leads you wondering throughout the film: What is going to happen next? If you’re into action-thrillers with loads of adventure, make sure to catch Triple Frontier in select movie theaters on March 6th and on Netflix on March 13th.
