The Knockturnal was on the scene on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the infamous The London Hotel in West Hollywood.
Netflix hosted a special screening of the The Umbrella Academy Season 3 with cast members Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Jake Epstein, Genesis Rodriguez, Cazzie David, Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton, and Ken Hall. This carpet and screening gave us an inside look into the ‘Umbrella Academy’ world right before its official release on June 22, 2022. This insanely popular show, created and executed produced by Steve Blackman, and Executive Producers Jeremy Webb, Jeff F. King, and Jesse McKeown, is here again to be everyone’s favorite summer show. When asked about the popularity of the show, David Castañeda said, “I mean people related to it, and obviously they had a huge comic book following but that usually doesn’t translate well if that’s not told right and that’s attributed to the creator Steve Blackman”. All of the Hargreeves siblings also agreed that this is by far the best season fans will see.
In this new season, the Hargreeves siblings find themselves back home in the present after putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed this godforsaken timeline once and for all. But after a brief moment of celebration, they realize things aren’t exactly (okay, not at all) how they left them. Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns. Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own – and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the Universe (something they may have caused) — now all they need to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong. Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?
The first person we got to chat with was the Aidan Gallagher who plays Number Five.
We also got to speak with up-and-coming former Euphoria star, Javon “Wanna” Walton who will be joining this new season playing “Stanley”.
David Castañeda, who plays Diego Hargreeves, was an absolute pleasure to speak with where he told us a little about what we can expect in this new season in comparison to seasons past.
We also got to chat with Tom Hopper, who plays Luther Hargreeves.
Ritu Arya, who plays Lila Pitts, talked to us quickly about the new season.
Canadian actress, Britne Oldford, plays Fei in this new season who “sees” the world in a very unique way with the help of her ravens. She gave us an exclusive on what it was like preparing for this role.
Genesis Rodriguez was just as sweet as her character Sloane when talking to us about how excited she is about this new season.
Luther equivalent Marcus is played by the incredibly charming Justin Cornwell who chatted with us a bit about what training for this role was like and how what is was like joining the team.
Finally, to wrap up our interviews, we spoke with the insanely funny and talented Ken Hall who plays both Pogo and Herb.
