Bera is an already well known name in his native Georgia. He’s looking to captivate American audiences in just the same way. He’s a fast rising pop star. His latest music video, directed by YouTube star Nash Grier, features Nash along with other YouTube sensations Hayes Grier, Jack & Jack, Sammy Wilkinson, Wesley Stromberg, and Jake Foushee. Today we interviewed Bera about his new song and video. Read what he had to say below:
Tell us about your new song? What was the inspiration?
To be honest with you I was just jamming with my guys and we wrote it really quickly.
I had an amazing studio where I was able to just write songs all day and my biggest inspiration is to be able to do what I love the most. It’s a feel good record –I hope that anyone who listens to it is put in a fun and happy place.
How did you link up with Nash?
I met Chad Greer, Nash’s father, first. We had a lot of things in common – family values, morals, we had a great conversation the first time we met. We both love sports.
He introduced me to Nash, Hayes and the whole group. We had a good vibe from the start. I think Nash is someone real. He says what he thinks, when he’s nice to someone, you know it’s true. I like someone like that.
What was it like collaborating with him?
It was a great experience because first of all I think it was a learning process for both of us. He introduced me to the social media world and taught me things that I didn’t know, and I think introduced him to the music world – like specific things that only happen when you’re working on a project. It’s a special thing to watch someone direct his first video on my single. He has great potential in front of or behind the camera.
What was it like working with Hayes Grier, Jack & Jack, Sammy Wilkson aka Sammywilk, Wesley Stromberg and Jake Foushee?
All these guys are great, they’re all young and they have a lot of energy and love music. They are just very humble, cool guys having fun. So it was a great vibe — it felt like a party. Everybody was having fun. They are all different in their own ways.
And of course I had my great friend Maejor who was in the video as well, anything Maejor and I do, we always support each other.
What’s next for you?
My next single called “untouchable” – it’s a duet – I have a special artist featured on it…I can’t tell you who yet, but I can tell you I grew up listening to this artist – he is definitely an idol to an entire generation. You will have to wait and find out!
