On June 16, The Knockturnal was treated to a night of Hollywood glitz and glamor at the SVEDKA Vodka Summer Fiesta.
We arrived at the venue (a palatial mansion in Beverly Hills) and were escorted to a magnificent garden where the evening’s entertainment matched the extravagant setting. DJ Saint Clair spun tunes on the deck, while a mariachi band, aerialist, stilt walkers and a woman in a huge transparent bubble, entertained the crowd. It was like having a private version of Cirque du Soleil in your own back yard!
To celebrate the launch of the SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño Vodka, guests were offered a variety of signature cocktails, so we headed to the poolside bar and ordered a “Disco Cup” (a delicious mix of SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon and lime juice, strawberry and orange slices, mint and club soda). These perfect summer cocktails were accompanied by a buffet of authentic Mexican cuisine consisting of pulled pork, chicken and beef. After rubbing shoulders with Eva Longoria, Sophie Monk, Cher Lloyd, along with Adore Delano, Raja, and Willam, former stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race, we boogied the night away in true “Disco Cup” style before heading home … back to the real world for now….
SVEDKA Vodka’s Disco Cup
Ingredients:
2 parts SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño
1 part elderflower liqueur
½ part fresh lemon juice
½ part fresh limejuice
2 strawberry slices
2 orange slices
Pinch of mint
Club soda
Instructions: Lightly muddle fruit and mint in the bottom of a Collins glass. Fill with ice, add remaining liquid ingredients and top with club soda. Garnish with sliced strawberries, sliced oranges and mint.
