The Knockturnal was on the scene for the Los Angeles Premiere for the final season of HBO Original Series CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM.
The Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning HBO Original comedy series CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, starring Larry David, returned for its twelfth and final ten-episode season SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. Trailer: (HERE)
Premiering in 2000, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” emerged as a groundbreaking comedy series that blurred the lines between fiction and reality. Larry David’s portrayal of an exaggerated version of himself, unapologetically navigating social norms and conventions, offered audiences a refreshing and hilarious take on the human experience. The show’s unique format, featuring a detailed outline for each episode rather than a traditional script, allowed the cast to improvise and infuse their own comedic brilliance into the scenes.
A show as star-studded as CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM deserved an equally as star-studded premiere, and it recieved nothing less. Larry David, the mastermind behind the show and its central character, attended the premiere alongside key figures such as showrunner and executive producer Jeff Garlin, executive producers Jeff Schaffer, Laura Streicher, and Jennifer Corey. The cast, including Susie Essman (“Susie Greene”), J.B. Smoove (“Leon Black”), Cheryl Hines (“Cheryl”), Richard Lewis (“Richard Lewis”), Ted Danson (“Ted Danson”), and Vince Vaughn (“Freddy Funkhouser”), were also in attendance.
The Knockturnal chatted with the cast of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM at the premiere! Check out the conversations below!
In its first season, Halo from Paramount+ got off to a rocky start. The show’s producers went out of their way to change everything that made Halo popular into a sci-fi thriller that happens to have the Halo IP.
During the second season of Halo, certain issues had been rectified that had previously affected its appearance on screen. Halo’s second season clearly addresses and improves on the shortcomings observed in its first season, as we have had the opportunity to review it.
After a startling incident on a remote planet, Master Chief John-117 and his Spartans are convinced that a pivotal shift is imminent in the ongoing war as the Covenant threatens humanity’s most vital bastion. In spite of skepticism from others, he risks all to discover evidence that the Covenant is planning to attack humanity’s most vital bastion. In search of the Halo, which holds the key to humanity’s survival or its ultimate demise, John embarks on a perilous quest.
With Pablo Schreiber’s portrayal of Master Chief in season 2, he explores his complex mental state and PTSD struggles in a captivating manner. As Master Chief struggles to cope with his past trauma and the loss of Makee, the show’s first and fourth episodes capture his emotional depth. Despite Master Chief’s stoic exterior, Schreiber’s portrayal reveals the inner turmoil and vulnerability underneath it.
His nuanced acting captivates audiences from the very beginning, setting the tone for a gripping exploration of Master Chief’s character arc throughout the season.
This season of Halo features standout performances by Yerin Ha, demonstrating her talent and leaving viewers with lasting memories. As a result, the narrative becomes more complex, with moments that captivate audiences and elevate the viewing experience without revealing any spoilers.
Jen Taylor’s portrayal of Cortana in Halo’s second season adds a multifaceted dimension to its narrative. Cortana is more than a technological aide; her interactions with Master Chief resemble therapy sessions more this time around.. Cortana delves into Master Chief’s psyche and helps him navigate traumatic experiences through their conversations.
This season of Halo has elements in common with Halo Reach, as well as references to Halo’s origins. Adapting and remixing several storylines from these iconic games gave the series depth and familiarity. However, what they do with that knowledge and source material is nothing more of fan service instead of advancing the plot and narrative forward.
It would have been nice if everyone on this show didn’t try to take down the enemies with assault rifles. I know that Halo-accurate guns might not look good, but going up against the powerful enemies with the signature Halo sword should have been obvious.
The acting performances, pacing, and lengthy episode duration have been subjects of scrutiny, with some feeling that these elements detract from the overall viewing experience. Despite these criticisms, Halo’s commitment to honoring its video game roots while forging its own path in the realm of television remains evident, offering fans a nostalgic yet fresh take on the beloved franchise.
On Wednesday January 31, Prime Video held the premiere of their newest series Mr & Mrs Smith at Brooklyn’s Weylin venue. The premiere saw the screening of the pilot and an additional episode along with an after party.
“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” stars Donald Glover as John and Maya Erskine as Jane. The two give up their average lives to become special agents but under the guise of being a married couple in NYC. The series is a modern adaptation of the famous 2005 film of the same name which originally starred Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
There were a number of actors who appeared in the series present at the screening including Eiza González and Michaela Coel. Billy Campbell, who is best known for his roles on “Dynasty” along with “Once and Again,” has a short stint in episode three.
Campbell spoke with us about his character on the carpet saying, “It’s emotional. I had a very small part, but it’s like an arch. It’s a sweet little arch, but it’s a very emotional arch. And I don’t always have the pleasure of being able to do that.”
The actor additionally raved over the chemistry between the two leads of the series; a sentiment felt by everyone on the carpet. Francesca Sloane, show runner and co-creator of the series, made a point that at the center of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” is romance between these two leads.
For anyone who is a fan of the original, this chemistry is far different than expected. In fact, the series doesn’t take much for its original material. Sloane said, “We completely started with a fresh canvas. We really first just wanted to make a story that made sense for the kind of creators that Donald and I are to tell a story, and it felt like something very unique.”
Glover serves as co-creator, director, executive producer, and main lead of the project. It’s not surprising as the multifaceted creator often takes on a great deal on his projects such as his shows “Atlanta” and “Swarm.” As an established creative in his field, Glover admits, “Be surrounded by people you actually trust. People who you trust their taste. It’s not all about you being right. It’s about the piece.” Glover also makes reference to working with his creative partner Hiro Murai who has stood by him on multiple projects.

Following the screening, the after party occurred on the lower level of the venue. The space was decorated to fit the vibe of a series’ tone. With artwork that moved to reveal hidden secrets, and a machine that revealed if one was a low risk or high risk agent. Guests were also invited to indulge in cocktails suited for an spy as well.
We decided to have our martinis shaken, and stirred of course.
The night was truly excellent, and the series is definitely one to watch, not only for nostalgic purposes but for a refreshing take on the thriller genre.
Our review of the first few episodes of “Mr.& Mrs. Smith” is available now. The series is also available to stream on Prime Video.
In the latest episode of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, viewers are treated to a compelling narrative packed with powerful performances that keep them on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
A standout moment in the episode is the Butta stage performance scene, which not only showcases exceptional talent but also adds depth to the storyline, earning its place as one of the episode’s highlights.
Malcolm Mays delivers a commanding portrayal of Lou, drawing parallels to previous arcs of compelling characters in the Power universe. Despite their flaws and involvement in illicit activities, characters like Lou evoke empathy from viewers, offering a glimpse into the complexity of their lives as they navigate hardships.
The departure of Jukebox from the music group raises thought-provoking questions about guilt by association and its repercussions in harsh realities. Meanwhile, developments in characters like Malcolm Howard hint at the plot twists awaiting viewers in the next episode, leaving them eagerly anticipating the gripping events to come.
Raising Kanan skillfully explores themes of loyalty and betrayal, exemplified by Gerald’s tragic demise and its profound impact on Marvin’s character development. This episode poignantly illustrates the unforgiving nature of their world, underscoring the harsh realities depicted in Raising Kanan.
The narrative deftly depicts Juke’s dreams being undermined by law enforcement, foreshadowing potential future choices for the character. Likewise, Kanan’s confrontation with Ronnie foreshadows intriguing changes in their relationship dynamics that are yet to unfold.
The gradual introduction of Ty Dolla Sign into the storyline adds an exciting dimension to the narrative, promising fresh perspectives and potential collaborations that will keep viewers engaged.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan masterfully explores themes of addiction, redemption, and the consequences of one’s actions, delivering a powerful and emotionally charged performance. Viewers remain deeply invested in the characters’ journeys, eagerly awaiting the unfolding of their fates, even amidst heartbreaking moments.
Howard is one of the best liars on the show, always coming in clutch. I thought the episode should have ended with Lou Lou meeting a tragic end. He keeps messing up. It looks like Famous’s music venture will succeed. Jukebox’s career is rapidly crumbling. There’s nothing they could have done with Gerald’s sudden confession and death. In my opinion, Snaps and Pop are awesome characters, and I’d like to see more scenes of them, Ronnie, and Kanan working together.
To conclude, Power Book III: Raising Kanan continues to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative and superb performances, firmly establishing itself as one of the most riveting adventures in the Power Book series.Viewers eagerly anticipate the next installment, eager to see where the story will take them next.

Grammy-nominated artist Latto came to New York City to celebrate the premiere of Netflix’s new limited series, Griselda. Held at Capitale in Bowery, we went back to the 1970s, when music, dance, and fashion created an elite club culture that required a guest-list-only atmosphere.

Guests were welcomed into the grand ballroom with an Instagram-worthy photo wall that had already garnered a line; mind you, this was just in the doorway. So, you know, it was going to be a jam-packed night.
After we took all the pictures, we made our way to the bar for an early cheers to the weekend with some series-themed cocktails: “The Godmother Mojito” and “La Madrina Margarita,” amongst your typical party drinks.
The real star of the night was the “motel,” a.k.a., the best interactive photo exhibit that took you straight into the world of the new series. Motel staffers directed us through the silent disco room, which, once you put those headphones on, transported us to the disco. Then, the staffers escorted us through the powder room to touch up on our hair, nails, and makeup before going to the most fabulous accessory room to choose our looks for the end of our journey, the 360 photo booth.

We left the motel with a Polaroid from the silent disco room, the series soundtrack vinyl, and a pair of sunglasses from the limited-edition Griselda X Foster Grant collection.
For the rest of the night, we enjoyed some more drinks and the ambiance and fueled up with empanadas from Toma before the night’s performance. Rapper Latto closed out the night with an extravagant performance. While the crowd cheered through her whole set, Latto shouted out Karol G, took shots with the crowd, and ended the night on a high note that had guests running home to binge-watch the new series.

This week’s episode of Power Book III: Raising Kanan provided an in-depth exploration of Raq’s hustler mentality, particularly evident in her strategic handling of the Juliana situation.
Raq’s calculated and cold demeanor adds a layer of complexity to her character, making her a force to be reckoned with in the narrative.
The revelation of Gerald snitching on Marvin added a new layer of tension, suggesting potential repercussions for Howard as Burke’s father delves deeper into the unfolding drama. The intricate web of alliances and betrayals continues to weave, keeping viewers hooked on the unpredictable twists.
In terms of character development, Ishmael’s evolution deserves recognition. His growth as a character and his role in the overarching plot contribute to the richness of the storyline. The subtle nuances in Ishmael’s actions and decisions hint at the potential impact he may have on future events.
The episode also featured a gripping fight scene in the subway, where Jukebox faced off against two girls. This intense altercation not only showcased Juke’s physical prowess but also added a layer of vulnerability to her character, allowing viewers to connect with her on a deeper level.
On the romantic front, Kanan’s involvement with Krystal introduced a new dynamic to the storyline. The consequences of this relationship remain uncertain, adding an element of suspense to Kanan’s personal life and its potential impact on the larger narrative.
Lou’s exceptional acting during his drunk scenes deserves special mention. The portrayal of his character’s struggles and emotions was both compelling and convincing. Lou’s journey, especially when inebriated, added a poignant touch to the episode, showcasing the actor’s skill in bringing out the complexities of the character.
While this episode may not have surpassed the intensity of the previous week’s installment, the series continues to maintain a captivating pace. Snaps and Pops contribute to the overall intrigue, and the diverse character arcs keep viewers eagerly anticipating the next developments. Raising Kanan remains a compelling drama, balancing intricate plotlines with well-executed character dynamics.
