The biggest night in television was this weekended and with any major award show comes great reason for celebration. Kicking off Emmy’s weekend was Entertainment Weekly who hosted a fabulous pre-Emmy’s bash Friday night at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.
Countless stars hopped out of black SUVs and heeled their way across the carpet before making their way into the party. For most, their fashion of the evening was just a little tease to what they wore the evening of the main event.
Members from the cast of This Is Us, The Good Place, SNL, and more all the way to the stars of your favorite streaming shows were present to jump start the special weekend.
Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Parker Bates, Niles Fitch, Mackenzie Hancsicsak and many more from the series were present basically making the soiree a full on This Is Us reunion. We happened to speak with Eris Baker and Faithe Herman who play daughters to Randall Pearson, the character portrayed by Sterling K. Brown.
Of course we couldn’t help ourselves and had to ask about the upcoming 4th season. “There’s gonna be so many new characters this season and I’m excited to see what roles they have to play in the show,” Eris Baker told us on the carpet. “Overall expect the unexpected.”
The new season premieres tonight and expecting the unexpected is accurate because with a show like This Is Us you never know when you need a tissue so it’s best to keep the Kleenex box handy.
Right now on the forefront of television are groundbreaking shows such as Pose on FX and Netflix’s When They See Us. On Sunday night Billy Porter and Jharrel Jerome each took home an Emmy championing for each of their respective shows. Clearly a Billy Porter fan Laverne Cox foreshadowed his win with us at EW’s red carpet by saying, “this is the year of Billy Porter.”
Meanwhile, for many other shows like The Good Place, Game of Thrones, and Veep the Emmy’s were bittersweet. These shows conclude their run but as they say though all good things must come to an end and this weekend was the perfect one to celebrate their time and the impact they had on people and television.
L’Oréal Paris sponsored the evening and guests whisked away into the Hollywood night with a L’Oreal filled gift bag.
