We are all clearly awaiting a new epoch of Art and in that regard, we’ve got to start getting familiar with faces we might be seeing. Meet rarely gorgeous model Peace, Rwanda-bred and Toronto raised. Peace’s natural long limbs and high cheekbones are one of a kind. But we all know it is more than just a pose, it the attitude of the model that captures moments. Her natural confidence on-screen and her charm off-camera scream potential superstar. As the world continues to push diverse faces shapes and sizes, it only makes sense to show love and bring awareness to the endless amount of beauty on earth. Peace is that rare artifact.
Between her busy lifestyle and corporate placements, we couldn’t resist ask the model about herself.
The Knockturnal: You’re always killing your angles! I’m like a lot of them I feel comes naturally to you or at least you make it seem so. Is modelling something you always wanted to do?
Peace: Thank you! Tbh I always just think WWND (what would naomi do). I’ve been tall all my life and always had a passion for fashion, so I always had an idea of wanting to model. It wasn’t until I moved to Toronto that I was able to bring the thought into fruition.
The Knockturnal: If I was a total stranger, describe yourself to me in. Three words.
Peace: Quirky, informative, chilled out.
The Knockturnal: What are your favourite go to items before a shoot?
Peace: I bathe in Shea Butter the morning of a shoot to make sure my skin is glistening for the camera. I love to put on a hydrating sheet mask to plump my skin up for the MUA. I also drink a bunch of water the night before a shoot. Dehydration is the first step to a bad pic.
The Knockturnal: 5 brands you love wearing.
Peace: I love everything designer. Gucci, fendi, Prada, etc. I work with an amazing brand called Ofuure, they have some dope fits with crazy prints. The homie has a line called No Bad Days, I live in those tracksuits and Nike been spicing up my athletics.
The Knockturnal: 5 items you wish you had in your closet.
Peace: I need the Prada boots with the ankle bags attached. I need the whole latest collection by Area. OVO came out with some dope gear I wanna cop. There’s a Balenciaga jacket shaped like a fluffy heart, I need that too. Lastly, anything Fenty.
The Knockturnal: The most expensive thing you’ve worn for a shoot
Peace: I’ve worn some pricey things! But I think the most expensive was this vintage dolce gabbana red leather dress, that I actually ended up ripping because my hips don’t lie! I still feel really bad about that.
The Knockturnal: Top 3 best model moments for you.
Peace: Booking my first paid gig was super exciting. Ended up working with the brand a few times afterwards. Of course the Nordstrom campaign was exciting. Ended up doing 2 nation wide campaigns with them and my face was everywhere. Also did something super cool for Nokia and it aired in Europe. The day it aired I was actually in Switzerland and got to see it with my eyes. So surreal.
The Knockturnal: Your casual look consists of?
Peace: I’m so random. One day I’m in a full all black tracksuit. The next day I’m in the most colourful pantsuit.
The Knockturnal: On a night out what is that one product you keep on you?
Peace: If you know me, you know I love to smell good. I can’t leave my house without my Fragrance oils.
The Knockturnal: Favorite restaurant in Toronto?
Peace: This is a hard one. If I’m looking for something more high class, Sotto Sotto because pasta. If I’m just looking for a quick lunch I love Gui rei , this little Korean spot by my place. They kill it with the food aesthetic.
The Knockturnal: Your favorite vice?
Peace: My favorite vice is to drink a whole bottle of merlot and write raps and poems.
