Disney and Dolby SoHo Present ‘The Lion King’ Experience

For a limited time, Disney and Dolby SoHo (NYC) are presenting a Pride Land experience in celebration of the live action movie release of The Lion King.

The experience begins with the portrayal of characters through advanced technology, which pairs vision and perspective. Not only is the installation visually appealing, but it also brings the characters to life through its mesmerizing scenes and screens.

The tour continues down a gallery of stills. Portraits of each character fill the hallway leading to the “Experience Room.” In this room, attendees will feel the sensation of the African savannah.

The entire room is a projection of a customized clip. You feel up close and personal with this portion as you’re fully submerged in the sights and sounds of the film surrounding you.

There’s also an opportunity to use the Dolby Dimension headphones where you can sample the movie soundtrack or play special behind-the-scenes clips.

In a separate, larger space, there’s a jungle-themed cafe/bar where attendees can get free coffee and a one of a kind photo opp with the Pride Rock installation. The activation mirrors the infamous scene where Simba is appointed as future king.

In the lower part of studio, there’s a portrait of Simba made of neon lights, which was created by a Dolby artist.

The experience ends with an intimate screening room where you can view the trailer of the movie.

The immersive Lion King experience presented by Dolby SoHo is open to the public and free of cost from now until August 4. The admission hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
