CultureCon, the highly anticipated event celebrating art, music, fashion, and diversity, made its grand debut on the bustling streets of Los Angeles.
This one-of-a-kind gathering held at Rolling Greens on Mateo brought together a myriad of talented individuals such as singer, songwriter & actress Coco Jones, singer-songwriter Victoria Monét, recording artist Lakeyah and DJ Yannick Jones to three-time EMMY® award-winner Sterling K. Brown, esteemed actor and stand-up comedian Jay Pharoah and the cast of The Blackening, Tim Story, Dewayne Perkins, and X Mayo. CultureCon created an environment where artists and enthusiasts could share their passion and inspire one another, truly embodying the core of Juneteenth and Black Music Month.

Culture Con LA featured a series of talks with accomplished guests including, Bresha Webb, Skye Townsend, Karen Pittman and many more that aimed to empower and inspire attendees. The esteemed speakers from various fields shared their insights, experiences, and knowledge, offering valuable advice and sparking engaging conversations. Guests also had the opportunity to flick it up at various activations including Prime Video’s I’m a Virgo installation which is apart of Prime’s “Where Black is the Main Character” platform as well as the vibrant mural painted by Laci Jordan stating, “We are the Culture.” The sun finally came out of hiding in LA for the creative homecoming presented by Max making the Max VIP Lounge, the Coca Cola hydration station and CIROC Honey Melon’s “Fresh Serves Club” the locations to be at. Attendees enjoyed the libations before making a pit stop at the Fresh Serves Club’s reimagined country club where they could play a round of mini golf and lounge while mingling with new friends. While guests came for the culture, they got to leave with some goodies including hair products from My Black is Beautiful, a haircare line for Black women with 4C hair.

The inaugural CultureCon LA surpassed all expectations, emerging as a pivotal event in the artistic and cultural landscape of Los Angeles. From its vibrant art installations to its empowering panels and electrifying performances, the event showcased the diversity, creativity, and talent that defines not only the city of Los Angeles, but the “Culture” as a whole. By fostering connections, inspiring conversations, and promoting inclusivity, CultureCon LA has laid the foundation for future gatherings that will continue to push the boundaries of creativity and celebrate the power of culture in all its forms.
