The annual festival’s opening weekend hosted the hottest stars and acts.
Coachella, the two weekend concert series, got off to an interesting start on Friday April 15th. Some of weekend one’s top performers include A$AP Rocky, Calvin Harris, Flume, Silversun Pickups, and a reunion performance by Guns N’ Roses. Newcomers Halsey, Vince Staples, and G-Eazy are also set to perform.
A$AP Rocky attempted to finish his set on Friday with a surprise appearance from Kanye West. The rapper accompanied Rocky to sing his song “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” from his latest album Life of Pablo. But the artists were surprised to find that Yeezy’s microphone had been turned off because of Rocky’s late start to his set. The two left the stage to a chorus of ‘boos.’
Run the Jewels was introduced by none other than presidential candidate Bernie Sanders before their set. The duo also had a slew of guest stars including Nas, DJ Shadow, and Gangsta Boo.
Various stars came out for the first weekend of the annual music festival held in Indio, California. Some of the weekend’s well-known attendees included Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr, and Vanessa Hudgens. Coachella returns for weekend two on Friday, April 22nd.
