Co-director and star Peter Facinelli and co-stars Fiona Dourif and Asher Angel bring us the eye-opening independent film “On Fire,” the first independent film released after the interim SAG agreement was signed.
On September 28th, supporters gathered at the IPIC theater in Westwood to celebrate the premiere of “On Fire“. Proceeds from the evening were donated to the Global Empowerment Mission Fire Relief Programs. To lend a helping hand to recently devastated areas such as Hawaii and Washington. As you walked through the venue, actors and supporters lined up on the red carpet to be interviewed. Among the guests that came out to support the screening were Jason Oppenheim, Hannah Linderman, Maryam Zol, Sergio Farias, Eustace Montgomery Hicks, Matt Smiley, Ross McCall, Peter Winther, Lily Anne Harrison, Catherine Hardwicke and more. As guests waiting to be seated for the screening, we enjoyed drinks from El Cristiano additive-free tequila, Peroni Nastro Azzurro Italian beer, and delicious hor d’oeuvres and charcuterie spread from Lavo restaurant before entering the IPIC theater. The night was sponsored by Cineverse, Lone Star, El Cristiano, Tao Group’s The Fleur Room, Cookie Candy Cereal Pop, and Peroni.
The film follows the Laughlin family caught in a wildfire as they struggle to outrun the seemingly uncontrollable natural disaster. The film pays a special tribute to first responders and their ability to serve as a calming voice of reason amidst chaos. Actress Ashlei Foushee plays a newly appointed first responder who is the first to contact the Laughlin family.
When we spoke to Peter the night of the premiere, he could not stress the importance of a movie like “On Fire” enough. A film that depicts the true horrors of wildfires and its effect on real people’s lives. Peter said it best: “Things can be replaced, but people can’t,” that’s precisely the kind of message this film instills in its audience.
As of September 29th, On Fire is available to watch in theaters.
