Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education brought together a vibrant community at The Plaza for Fiesta 2026, celebrating more than nine decades of creating opportunities for young people through the arts, education, and community programs.

The unforgettable evening highlighted the organization’s lasting impact while raising awareness and support for the children and families it serves across the South Bronx and East Harlem.

Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education brought together an inspiring crowd at The Plaza for Fiesta 2026. The beautiful evening celebrated creativity, community and the organization’s incredible work with young people.

The night honored internationally celebrated artist Hunt Slonem, art dealer and cultural figure Sonia Gutt de Haime, and longtime Casita Maria leader Ben Rodriguez-Cubeñas. Each honoree brought their own connection to the arts and philanthropy to an evening centered around giving back.

Founded in East Harlem in 1934, Casita Maria has spent more than nine decades creating opportunities for young people and families. Today, the organization serves the South Bronx and East Harlem through free arts, education and youth development programs.

The evening offered a beautiful reminder of why that work matters. Casita Maria opens the door for creativity and gives young people the opportunity to turn their dreams into reality. Its commitment to the community was felt throughout the night.

After cocktails and dinner, guests took to the dance floor as Bob Hardwick Sound kept the celebration going. The energy was electric, with attendees dancing along to every song. It was a perfect reflection of Casita Maria’s ability to bring people together.

The celebration also highlighted the powerful connection between art and the next generation. Slonem’s colorful work has made his bunnies, butterflies and tropical birds instantly recognizable around the world. His recognition at Fiesta 2026 added another layer to an evening focused on nurturing creativity.

By the end of the night, Fiesta 2026 left guests with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Casita Maria created more than a beautiful celebration, it created a night that honored the power of creativity and the importance of investing in the next generation. For more than 90 years, Casita Maria has continued to show what can happen when a community comes together for its young people. Fiesta 2026 was a celebration of that legacy and a reminder that the work is far from finished.
