On Tuesday September 15, 2015 Carmen Marc Valvo debuted his spring summer collection at The Arc, Skylight at Moynihan Station.
Carmen Marc Valvo’s elegant designs combines classic artistry and refinement in striking silhouettes designed to enhance and complement the inherited beauty. Between the gorgeous flowing hem lines and the star studded front row including Hilaria and Alec Baldwin; I am not sure which was more exciting. With a palette constructed of floral, sequins and detailed prints, inspiration was pulled from Koi.
The use of floral, swan, and fish scale prints in both men and women’s wear, the collection captured koi feeling and left you wanting more. Bold mixes of black and red really allowed the spring collection to come alive.
He opened the show with seven cocktail dresses, the first of the seven to debut was a vibrant red halter, complimented with black and white color blocking on top. Each dress stands on its own and offers something uniquely different. With the use of sharp lines and contrasting colors, this spring collection was sure to grab your eye.
Exceptional in its construction and details—Iris Apfel, sitting front row, seemed to love every piece. The couture gowns were full of movement, dynamic patterns, and bold prints. Mens wear seemed to fit right into the mix of fabulousness look. The first male we saw (eight) walked the runway in a red, black, and white floral top, black bottoms and sneaker. Then it was back into cocktail dresses, until look seventeen where we saw the first gown; a mix of reds, greens, and black with a deep V- cut. Carmen Marc Valvo truly made a statement with the pieces and remained theme consistent .
The Beauty: A nude tone textured nail using Salon Secret Starter kit paired with a dynamic eye with bold lines from the inner eye past the corners giving the models an edgy look.
