On February 11th, Luar presented a dazzling showcase of creativity, innovation, and bold statements at the iconic Maiden Lane in downtown New York City.

The runway was graced by top models such as Joan Smalls and Paloma Elsesser, who brought to life a collection that masterfully blended modern sophistication with nostalgic 80s flair. We had the opportunity to go backstage and witness the creation of the show’s signature hairstyle, the “Fiery Fan,” crafted by celebrity stylist Jawara.

Inspired by the bold, voluminous hairstyles of the 80s, Jawara’s creation was a striking fusion of sleek professionalism and fiery drama. “For Luar’s show, I was inspired by the women of the 80s, using volume to showcase confidence,” Jawara explained. “The sleek bun emulates professionalism, while the fanned sides add a fiery flare. This look is about mixing modern polish with bold volume to create something unforgettable.”

The Fiery Fan hairstyle perfectly complemented the collection’s aesthetic, adding an element of drama and confidence to each model’s walk. The look began with a sleek, high ponytail twisted into a tight bun, embodying a sense of refined elegance. The real showstopper, however, was the addition of fanned-out extensions on either side of the head, creating a bold, voluminous frame that exuded power and charisma. This daring yet polished style captured the essence of the 80s while feeling entirely fresh and modern.

To bring this vision to life, Jawara used a selection of products from TRESemmé’s A-List Collection. The collection’s versatile range of products, including the Smoothing Cream, Styling Stick, and Dry Texturizing Spray, provided the tools needed to achieve the look’s intricate balance of sleekness and volume. These products, known for their accessibility and high performance, allowed Jawara to create a hairstyle that was both runway-ready and achievable for everyday fashion enthusiasts.

The Luar show itself was a celebration of contrasts, blending sharp tailoring with voluminous silhouettes and bold accessories. The event drew a star-studded crowd eager to witness the latest from designer Raul Lopez. The collection paid homage to the 80s with exaggerated shoulders, vibrant colors, and metallic finishes, while maintaining a modern edge that felt both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
