#NYFWM: Devon Halfnight LeFlufy & Landlord Present SS 2017 Collections
For this season’s New York Fashion Week: Men’s, Devon Halfnight LeFlufy showcased a virtual reality presentation, incorporating his designs with digital augmented reality. The Spring 2017 presentation took on VR goggles, sponsored by Samsung, that made for a standout from other designers this week.
The Canadian-Antwerp based designer evolved his pieces this season to include a few well tailored ready-to-wear garments including structured wool outerwear with rigid tailoring. The collection featured on abstract and non-collective arrangements, from oversized silhouettes, mismatched color palettes, and individualistic makeup and styling.

“Selected Feelings” was the signature theme for the collection, printed on silk tops and belts, encompassing old and new digital eras in the internet age. Models were equipped to Samsung’s monitors and goggles for guests to envision different perspectives of each look, from nature to abstract art.
We also had a chance to stop by Landlord’s SS17 presentation on the last day of Fashion Week to discover Ryohei Kawanishi’s fashion week debut inspired by utilitarian design. Silhouettes inspired by construction workers and Berlin-based contemporary artist Isa Genzken. The collection included garments made from nylon, 3M, and twill in reflective neons and bold contrasting colors. Although more of visionary art rather than conventional wear, this showcase was undeniably worth seeing.
