From heiress to artist
By this point, everyone has heard of Anna Delvey. Whether you watched the Netflix series “Inventing Anna” or followed Anna’s journey real time, you know just how influential and notable she is. During Miami Art Basel, Anna teamed up with NYC based gallery, The Locker Room, to unveil her newest art pieces. The House (Arrest) Party was an intimate art gallery showcasing Anna’s latest works that she created while on house arrest in NYC. Delvey’s new work the incorporates acrylics and canvas and used some of the works she made while incarcerated as the basis. The tongue-in-cheek designs draw from Delvey’s experience sketching at higher education institutions such as Central St. Martins and Parsons School of Design by marrying Anna’s love for high end fashion with ironic and often humorous messages. What began as paired down pen and pencil to paper – based on a limited access to supplies while incarcerated – has since developed into an in-demand body of fine art. These new pieces are exclusively available for purchase by collectors via Delvey’s partnership with The Locker Room.
During the art showcase, Anna Delvery zoomed into the room from her NYC apartment that she is staying in. Here she hosted a panel where she answered a variety of questions that the audience had for her. No question was off limits to the point where a member asked her if she had any scam artist inspirations to which she replied with ‘I am my own inspiration.’
