ALDI is saving you from the embarrassment of burnt meat and open-flame disasters this summer with their Grillmaster sweepstakes, which was kicked off at their rooftop Summer Grill Out on June 18.
Ordering ALDI premium meats or seafood on DoorDash with the code “GRILLMASTER” will enter you into a drawing to win a $250 credit towards private chef service, as long as you enter before July 2.
Winners will be notified via email by DoorDash on July 10 if they’re selected, but even if you don’t win, all entrants who use the code will receive $5 off their cart.
To celebrate this exciting promotion, ALDI brought some of their own Grillmasters to cook up dishes that showcase the quality and taste of ALDI ingredients as well as their mastery with the flame.
Grillmasters Bill Duesenberg, ALDI Director of National Buying, and Darryl Postelnick, Instagram and TikTok-famous at-home chef, presented the From The Land section. On the menu were sweet chili lime chicken and vegetable skewers, and Simply Nature organic grass-fed beef burgers on brioche rolls and topped with cabbage slaw.
The chicken skewers had a bright flavor with a slight kick from the chili, and were perfectly charred off the grill. The vegetable skewer, which had peppers, zucchini and mushroom, was crisp and perfect to beat the summer heat. The burger’s perfect char and fresh slaw set the bar high for outdoor barbecues, especially when topped with crunchy dill pickle chips.
After a hearty barbecue in the summer sun, Duesenberg says the best dessert is a bunch of green grapes, or as he calls it: “nature’s cotton candy.”
Grillmaster John Lee, ALDI Director of National Buying, manages the seafood selection for stores nationwide. Lee presented the event’s From The Sea menu, which featured Cedar Plank salmon tacos with a side of Mexican street corn.
The smokiness of the salmon brought out the brightness of the toppings on the taco, which included corn salsa, pico de gallo, jalapeño and cilantro. The Mexican street corn was perfectly grilled and bursting with buttery, cheesy flavor.
ALDI also featured some small bites to level up your backyard barbecues. A chips and guacamole wall showcased Simply Nature multigrain chips and Park Street guacamole. For a sweet treat, red and green grape bunches were served.
Cedar Plank salmon bruschetta and filet mignon crostinis brought an exciting starter from both the land and sea, and their spinach and artichoke-stuffed mushrooms were cheesy and comforting.
ALDI not only aims to connect to Americans through culinary education opportunities like their Grillmaster sweepstakes, they’re also committed to maintaining affordable price points for quality ingredients.
“At ALDI, we have everything shoppers need for their next backyard barbecue, including a top-tier selection of meat and seafood,” Scott Patton, VP of National Buying at ALDI, said in a press release announcing the Grillmaster sweepstakes. “By giving our shoppers access to expert grillmasters, we’re highlighting our offerings to show that our premium assortment – from USDA Choice Steak to Cedar Plank Salmon – delivers on quality.”
