The wind and snow did not stop Adam Lambert from lighting the stage on fire!
On Thursday March 3,Β Adam brought The Original High Tour to Terminal 5 in midtown Manhattan. In addition, Adam brought along 23-year-old Alex Newell to open the show. The line was long and stretched around the corner. All three floors of Terminal 5 were full. Drinks were flowing and the vibe was great.
Actor, singer Alex Newell aka Unique Adams from Glee, is the opening act for the Original High Tour. And what a pre-show it was! Adam said it himself, βAlex sung his face off, and always doesβ. He really knew how to get the crowd going, with his improv comedy skills. My favorite part of his performance (besides his great vocals) was when he asked everyone in the audience to join him in a hair flip. That was classic! He sung songs off his latest EP titled, POWER. He performed βBasically Over Youβ aka B.O.Y., βNobody To Loveβ, βThis Ain’t Overβ, βShameβ, and βDevilishβ. Check him out if you missed him on Glee, or on tour, and yes, heβs on Spotify, Pandora, and IHeartRadio.
After coming in second place on American Idol’s 8th season, Adam has sold over 2.5 million albums, and has been nominated for a Grammy. He was also the first openly gay singer to top the album charts. By the end of Alexβs pre show performance, Adamβs fans were like putty in the palm of his hands. He started off in a modern/futuristic costume. He changed into a tuxedo to get his grown and sexy on, and ended in camo outfit. His back up singers were also his backup dancers, which made the show really intimate. He sang all the songs off The Original High album, from βGhost TownβΒ to βHeavy Fireβ. He included some tracks from past albums such as βIf I Had You,” βFor Your Entertainment,” βWhataya Want From Me,” and βFever,” from his first album. In addition, he performedΒ βRunning,” βShady,” and βUnderneathβ from his sophomore album.
This is truly a must see show! With two former prime time performing artists, there isΒ never be a dull moment. Check out Adam and Alex on tour if you are lucky or on iTunes!
