Roland Mouret celebrated his 20th anniversary with his Fall/Winter 17 collection in London, England.
Featuring sultry details like the full-length back zips with keyhole cut outs and body-hugging fabrics, the collection echoed tones of sophistication and voltage. The immaculate tailoring celebrated the female form while the thoughtful proportions make the collection immune from becoming passe.
“All I wanted was to be a designer who made clothes that made women feel sexy, elegant and dare I say it, sophisticated,” wrote Mouret in his press release. “I am here because I love what I’m doing, because of all the strong women in my life and the women who have made this journey with me, some from the very beginning, (and we have aged together) and others who have discovered my designs along the way.”
Instead of creating a singular beauty look to complement the collection, MAC makeup artist, Val Garland, chose to celebrate the individuality of strong women by asking the models the following to questions in order to create the look:
- How would you wear your makeup on a date?
- How would you wear it on a morning after?
The result? A sense of reality and confidence about women presenting their best selves.
