LANYU had a star-studded front row for their 2017 Fall/ Winter runway collection which took place at the Skylight Clarkson Square. Olivia Culpo, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Kristen Teakman of The Real Housewives of New York, Pearl Thusi, Clara Lee, Dragonette, Zeke Thomas, among others were in attendance. And for a front-row that well-known, the show was undoubtedly impressive.
Every piece of Lanyu’s couture collection did not need changing or diverse pairing. Each look was perfect from the way it was pieced and paired together. The pastel colors gave out a dreamy vibe, and the silk fabrics would make you want to wear the outfit straight off the model. This collection was made for the girly-girl and fashionista.
Lanyu epitomized comfort, classy, and pure couture all at the same time with a laid-back clothing.
The Chinese designer behind the namesake brand has an impressive resume of her own as she’s been regarded as one of Asia’s most Influential designers and has been awarded “Asia’s Most Influential Designer” at the Asian Fashion Awards. She was also included in Forbes China “30 Under 30” in 2015.
The looks were mainly made from velvet, lace, silk, and tulle. Lan Yu started the show presenting statement coats and clocks in jade, and then she showed a lace jacket with wide-leg pants.
Her silk dresses stood out pretty in pink and her corduroy pant suit would make any woman feel fabulous in the workplace.
Lanyu’s finale strung out a series of dark jade braided coats and dresses, and the last look was a patch dress in multi-color lace with a high slit.
