Attention Disneynature lovers. Get ready to mark your calendars!
On Earth Day 2017 Disneynature is releasing their new True Life Adventure film “Born in China.”
The film, directed by Chinese filmmaker Lu Chuan, brings the audience along on a journey to follow three adorable animal families in the most extreme environments on Earth. Movie goers will witness some of the most intimate moments ever captured in a nature film.
The film will feature a doting panda bear mother guiding her growing baby as she begins to explore and seek independence, a two-year-old golden monkey who feels displaced by his new baby sister and joins up with a group of free spirited outcasts, and a snow leopard- a animal rarely caught on camera- faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs in one of the harshest and most unforgiving planets.
Disneynature’s commitment to conservation is a key pillar of the label and the film helps empower audiences to contribute in making a difference. Through donations tied to opening weeks attendance Disneynature, through Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, has contributed to a host of conservation initiatives. Their efforts include planting three million trees in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, establishing 40,000 acres of marine protected area in the Bahamas, protecting 65,000 acres of savanna in Kenya, protecting nearly 13 000 acres of wild chimpanzee habitat, cared for chimpanzees and educated 60,000 school children about chimpanzee conservation. Additionally, efforts have funded research and restoration grants in U.S. National Parks, supporting conservation projects spanning 400,000 acres of parkland and protecting over 75 species of animals and plants, and helped protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats across Indonesia, Cambodia and Sri Lanka.
This film is no different. Based on the opening-week attendance of “Born in China” Disneynature will make a contribution to World Wildlife Fund to help protect wild pandas and snow leopards in China.
