Some of NYCβs top auteurs, actors and cinephiles came out to support the opening of the first independently operated movie theater to open in the city in more than a decade. Metrograph, opening this weekend to the public, will also feature a restaurant, two full bar areas, a cafΓ©, a lounge, and a bookshop carrying rare and important books dedicated to film.

It’s the first independently operated movie theater to open in Manhattan in over ten years. Metrograph showcases first-run and repertory films, and will be devoted to screening archive-quality 35mm prints as well as state-of-the-art digital projection.
