This season, Reem Acra, a Fashion Institute of Technology alumna and one of the top names in bridal design, opted for creating dresses for a young and hip clientele. Her fall 2016 collection specificallyย targeted the millennial bride.
As soon as we entered the room, we were welcomed by a guitar player and live tunes that served as the perfect background for what was to come.
Acra kept her signature embroideries, combining them with tulle, organza and crepe, and lace details. The variety in the fabrics and shades of color gave the modern bride a wide range of options to make her special day absolutely unique.
The collection emphasized in lightness, simpleness, and comfort. It was apparent that the today bride wants to feel comfortable and be able to enjoy her entire special day without worrying about the dress being an inconvenience. All of the models were enjoying themselves and having fun while they walked the runway. This reflected in the lightness of the dresses and how weddings are joyful occasions.
One of the dresses that we loved was the strapless siren dress with a delicate lace motif bodice and a splendid tulle tail.ย Not only did we love the details of the look, but also the adorable bejeweled headphones and matching selfie stick that adorned the whole ensemble. We know that most likely we won’t be walking down the isle with these accessories, but we would probably need a chic selfie stick likeย these to capture all of our favorite moments atย the reception.
