‘The Irishman’ Starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci & Al Pachino Is In The Works

Robert De Niro. Joe Pesci. Al Pachino. Martin Scorsese. Maybe Harvey Keitel.

If you didn’t just think of every single mobster movie ever made (and Home Alone of course), then there is something seriously wrong with you. If you’re not exploding with elation after reading the names of several old, aging, white haired, white skinned, mostly Italian, former thriller/drama actors now turned old men comedy characters, then you seriously need to reevaluate your life.

Alright, as sarcastic as that sounds, I’m actually very excited. I mean, it’s the dream team. Mix and match the names around and they’ve worked with each other in various instances, but never in the same movie. And now, because we all know that De Niro cannot keep his mouth shut, we know that The Irishman will get made, and it will be everything we’ve ever wished for.

While promoting his film The Intern on Jimmy Fallon, De Niro mentioned that he, Pacino, Pesci and Scorsese were all signed on to make this film, based off of Charles Brandt’s book I Heard You Paint Houses: The Story of the Biggest Mob Hit In History. The book follows the story of Frank Sheeran (AKA The Irishman) and his numerous mob hits, including the deaths of Jimmy Hoffa and Joe Gallo.

As we wait in anticipation, you can watch the incredibly short sentence De Niro offers as confirmation of the project below.
