A new vlogcast is giving the next generation of hip-hop royalty a platform to discuss culture, identity, and the pressures of growing up in famous families.
Silver Spoons, presented by Fanmire and powered by My Code, launched October 12, featuring CJ Wallace, son of the late rapper The Notorious B.I.G. and singer Faith Evans, and Jae’Won, son of rapper Jadakiss. The culture-focused series explores what it means to grow up surrounded by iconic figures while working to establish an identity of their own. This vloghcast gives space for dynamic conversations and open dialogue from a perspective that most rarely see.
In the premiere episode, titled “Are CJ Wallace & Jae’Won Nepo Babies? Privilege, Pressure & Legacy,” the hosts tackle the controversial “nepo baby” label and examine whether their famous family connections have given them an advantage. The conversation also touches on the NBA’s growing number of second-generation stars, their fathers’ musical legacies and memories of growing up around Biggie’s influence, Faith Evans’ recording sessions in Atlanta, and the Ruff Ryders era in Yonkers.
The episode features candid discussions about survivor’s guilt, being profiled in luxury stores, starting therapy, and the expectations that come with their family names. The two also debate their fathers’ albums, including a hot take from Jae’Won about Biggie’s Ready to Die that sparks disagreement with Wallace.
As the series continues, CJ Wallace and Jae’Won explore a range of topics and welcome guests, including Shareef O’Neal, son of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and Noah Styles, son of rapper Styles P.
Unlike a traditional studio podcast, Silver Spoons is filmed on location, with episodes capturing conversations at fashion events, ComplexCon, and neighborhood hangouts to create a more casual, in-the-moment viewing experience.
New episodes are released every Monday and Thursday on YouTube and major podcast platforms.
