Lessons for the young and old — ‘Paramount’s PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie’ delivers.

In this third installment of the PAW Patrol movies, Ryder and the pups find themselves on an undiscovered island. Here, they come face to face with what has captured all of our imaginations since childhood: dinosaurs. Alongside these large, gentle creatures, the pups begin their discovery of the island — and make a new friend: Rex.

Continuing the tradition, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie gives Marshall center stage. The audience gets a chance to learn more about the spotted Dalmatian we know and love. Young viewers will join the pups on a journey with challenges and triumphs worthy of applause. Adults get a treat too — cameo voices from Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Terry Crews, Jennifer Hudson, and Bill Nye. Yes, that’s right — all five, and more familiar voices, join the story.

At the film’s core is a message for all: perfection is not everything. In a world where images of our lives are curated to be perfect before sharing, the film serves as a reminder to live and take chances. In life, mistakes will happen, but effort and the will to keep trying matters more. It’s important that today’s youth learn this lesson early — that beautiful can include imperfect.

“Bottle Up” by the Backstreet Boys closes out the film and leaves the audience on a high note. As it plays over the credits, families can’t help but linger a little longer in their seats, feeling the vibe.

By the time the credits rolled, the reaction was easy to read. Kids were still buzzing, parents a little misty-eyed, and the whole theater clapped before the lights came up. This is a movie built for the whole family, and it delivers on that promise.

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie hits theaters August 14.
