From the City, For the City: How Brothers Romello and Roland Truitt Built Wings World

Romello Truitt and Roland “M.E” Truitt are refining the wings game with their restaurant called Wings World, which they describe as a business that is both “from the city and for the city.”

Food, family, and culture all have two things in common: community and togetherness. Brothers Romello and Roland are combining each of those aspects into their restaurant, Wings World. Since opening their business in 2012, they have quickly amassed a large following and have over 10 locations throughout Texas that are both thriving and bursting with flavor. Their menu stands out with 33 bold flavors spanning from zesty to sweet, and that must-have spicy kick.
But their journeys didn’t begin at Wings World. Roland started as a musician, and Romello started as a fashion designer. From a young age, both knew they wanted to build something of their own, something they could truly be proud of. When the opportunity to open a restaurant presented itself, they took a leap of faith, and it’s been paying off ever since.
The mindset of an entrepreneur blends the intricacies of having a concept and vision for one’s brand, paired with calculating risks, creativity, and passion. Wings World has grown into more than just a destination for bold flavors; it’s a brand rooted in community, creating a space where people can come together as one.
Check out the full interview with Romello and Roland to hear more about their brand, Wings World, as part of Spectrums #WeBuiltThis campaign that highlights Black Millennials and Gen Z who are building long-lasting endeavors.
