Over the weekend, The Knockturnal got the amazing chance to watch a special screening of Beyoncé’s latest film, “Queen Bey’s Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.

The concert film takes you on a journey through Beyoncé’s big global tour, her childhood, what inspires her, and, of course, her deep connection with her fans, known as the Hive.

The film gives viewers insights into Beyonce’s global tour, her childhood, her inspirations, and, of course, Queen Bey’s love for the Hive.  It gave us a real look into Beyoncé’s life, showing us her strength, authenticity, and the strong bond she has with her fans.

In an Instagram post, the global pop star shared her heartfelt decision to release the film on World AIDS Day, dedicated to the memory of Beyonce’s late Uncle Johnny.

The performances within the film weren’t solely dedicated to her late Uncle Johnny; they also celebrated the contributions of queer Black artists spanning decades.

The Renaissance record truly artfully weaved various themes deeply rooted in queer culture, paying homage to drag legends like Kevin Aviance. This inclusive tribute extended to luminaries such as Black transgender DJ and producer Honey Dijon and the drag artist Moi Renee.

The film showcases an enormous stage set for the tour, setting it apart from other concert tours. In a unique tribute to her stage crew, Beyoncé highlights their contributions. She emphasized this each night on stage by drawing attention to the crew’s distinctive reflective chrome-colored uniforms on stage, providing audiences with a glimpse into the immense effort and energy invested by the crew to ensure the seamless execution of the production in every concert.

Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce highlights the dancers featured on tour and reflects on their upbringings and how the tour has created such a safe space of representation for them. The tour truly represented a family sanctuary for all involved

We got to see the legend herself on the big screen via Dolby Cinema. Offering guests the very best of the best movie experience, the concert film was truly brought to life through ultra-vivid colors and visuals through Dolby Vision, as well as experience the film as if we were stepping into the stadium itself via Dolby Atmos, experiencing Beyonce’s perfect vocals and live instrumentals.

Dolby Vision gave us stunning and bedazzled glimpses of Beyonce and her dancers’ tour costumes. They were brought to life through these vivid colors, as well as the beautiful LED screens paired with stunning visuals in the background.

When seeing the film, I took note of how amazing the sound quality was throughout both high energy paced tracks, such as “Run the World (Girls)” and “BREAK MY SOUL,” and ballads, including “Dangerously in Love 2”.

Dolby Cinema allowed us to experience Beyonce’s radiance and talent as if we were there in person.
