Week five of the American Song Contest is wrapped and we have officially been introduced to all 56 talented contestants.
On Monday, April 18 viewers got to hear the beautiful songs written and performed by 13 contestants including Ada Leann [Michigan], Andrew Sheppard [Idaho], Halie [Missouri], Jason J [Guam], John Morgan [North Carolina], Josh Panda [Vermont], Justin Jesso [Illinois], Khalisol [New Mexico], Tenelle [American Samoa], Sweet Taboo [California] and Grammy award nominated superstar SisqΓ³ [Maryland]. The music competition show hosted by Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson has completed its qualifying rounds and next week will start the semifinals.
The competition is packed with a variety of musical talent. Some are just starting out their career, fine tuning their sounds or hoping for their big break while others are seasoned in the industry and have already experienced immense success, but can their past wins solidify a win in the American Song Contest? βI donβt think status matters unless you have 5 million TikTok followers. Itβs really about artists getting up, singing a brand-new song in front of an audience and thatβs the magic of music,β SisqΓ³ stated. The comradery of the contestants was admirable, many of them not seeing it as a competitive competition but more of a way to be surrounded by like-minded artists on a major platform connecting with new and old fans. Catch new episodes on Monday nights at 8pm on NBC. Fans at home can vote for their favorite performances onΒ nbc.com/ascvote,Β the NBC App and on TikTok.Β Voting for the Qualifiers will open Monday nights and will close Wednesday morning.
