NBCU hosted their annual entertainment scripted mid-season press junket welcoming back our favorite shows, giving us teasers, and saying farewell to the shows wrapping up.

NBCU is home to fan-favorite shows like the Emmy nominated This is Us, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, Manifest, New Amsterdam and so many more!

The Knockturnal spoke with some of the cast members of numerous NBCU shows including Milo Ventimiglia from This is Us. Fans of the series know how integral Jack Pearson [Milo Ventimiglia] is to the show, however as the big three get older and we dive deeper into the future, will fans be seeing less and less of the beloved Pearson patriarch? Ventimiglia put our worries to rest in true Jack Pearson style by saying, “everyone’s always a part of a painting, no one ever leaves it – I think Jack will always be around until the very, very, very last moment.” As this series continues to flourish, we must sadly say our goodbyes to two incredible shows, Wynonna Earp and Queen of the South.

Before Wynonna Earp ends for good, fans have to know if there will be a #wayhaughtwedding and although Melanie Scrofano who plays Wynonna Earp couldn’t elaborate too much about the desired wedding, she did make a giant hint that fans will be pleased. “I had an incredible time filming the last few episodes of the season and I think it’s some of the best stuff we’ve done on the show and I think our fans are incredible and will be very happy,” Scrofano says in response to a potential #wayhaughtwedding. As we celebrate a potential badass wedding, we can also celebrate the amazing five season run that Alice Braga had on USA’s Queen of the South. “To be able to play someone that is a strong woman, that is a Latina, that is someone that doesn’t victimize herself on TV was just a blast,” Braga says. And as these series end with a bang, Young Rock, Debris and Resident Alien are midway through incredible first seasons.

Young Rock explores the childhood years of one of Hollywood’s most loved celebrities, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Viewers get a comedic peek into the sometimes outrageous moments of Johnson’s life as well as the people who influenced him along the way. Joseph Lee Anderson who plays Rocky Johnson, shares some things he learned about the Rock after playing his father, “there’s a lot that surprised me about him [The Rock]. The fact that he grew up poor, I wouldn’t have expected that.” He also shares how Johnson wanted to pursue a career in the NFL and that he would “steal everything he would see.”

While we do not know how these seasons will end, who will find love, who will die or who will escape death, we do know that NBCU has a plethora of shows that will leave you laughing, crying, gasping, confused, sad, angry and all of the above. To get a deeper insight to your particular show, be sure to check out our interviews from NBCU’s mid-season press junket.
