Socializing from Home – The Show Must Go On and So Must Entertainers

To speak to someone who is normally fully employed in entertainment during the pandemic can be rather depressing.

There is no doubt the words that musicians, Broadway set designers, television actors, and film production assistants here time and time again is, “you will be the last to go back to work fully.”

The pressures of COVID-19 have gotten to every person alive, but the added stress is something off the charts for Hollywood and the music world. But, fortunately, there are ways to try to handle it. Some individuals like mental health guru, Cristina Dam, are on a mission to help the artists of America rediscover that path of light. Industry folks are used to waiting for the spotlight to shine and know that hitting your mark will start the magic of the show. As the owner of Liberate Hollywood, she is keeping that sparkle alive in the midst of the pandemic.

Cristina Dam

Dam is considered by many in the entertainment industry to be an absolute expert in natural medicine and refined mental techniques. Her understanding of artists in all capacity is truly incredible. She knows how to explain thoroughly why many in the field are struggling to deal with day-to-day existence. Her leadership runs deep in the veins of those who give over to her powerful guidance.

“So many in the industry have their identity wrapped up in their profession,” said the advisor during a recent interview. “In March they were doing what they love and were creating things from a place of passion. And then suddenly it all got shut down.”

People were and are still desperate to get back that passion. They are digging and searching for answers that will keep them motivated and their careers thriving even in the midst of one of the most difficult times in modern history. Dam’s desire for helping people transform their lives is helping to break this sense of desperation and help formulate clear-cut intentions for how to keep going. Even if Broadway does not come back until the summer of 2021, or if concerts do not bring together thousands of fans in an arena until another year from now it simply does not mean we quit on ourselves according to her.

“The old normal is gone, so we have to come up with a new plan.”

The landscape is changing and it’s why celebrity clients like Adam Sandler, Halle Berry, Moby, and Diplo refer to her for spiritual guidance. Fascinated with hypnosis since she was a child, Dam would make-believe-hypnotize friends and family members. It was this youthful approach to the world that helped her be who she is today – a guidance counselor with the ultimate good vibes entertainment folks seek out.

As an adult, her interest grew serious when she saw the incredible results of hypnotherapy as compared with traditional therapy. She went on to study Hypnotherapy at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, the only accredited hypnotherapy school in the nation. Cristina holds Masters degrees in both Psychology and Educational Foundations and is a Certified Addiction Treatment Specialist. She designed and implemented a prevention rehabilitation program for inner-city youth at juvenile correctional institutions in Los Angeles County, and has worked with adult prison inmates to reduce the recidivism rate upon their release into society.

A perpetual student of The World, Cristina is always challenging herself to learn and try new things. No matter what it is you’re seeking to transform, Cristina can set you on the path to freedom. She gets to the root of mental, emotional, physical, and financial struggles. With a gift for getting into your unconscious mind, Cristina will effectively change the way you think, behave, and live your life.

More than ever we need a big, positive change in the entertainment industry. To sit with her as a musician or a television producer you can adapt to the new modern world with some of her principles you hear when she speaks or when you attend the center’s sessions online. Her top bits of guidance are truly about reconnecting with your truth again and finding the root of inspiration – we can be inspired even as we wait for cameras to roll again and stages to be filled with backline for a beloved band.

“Everything in life changes,” she emphasizes to her clients. “Immediately stop thinking about the past. The first fundamental step is to stop thinking you have no control in the present. Stop the snowball effect. Focus on what makes you feel safe. Focus on what you can control.”

It may be spending time learning a new instrument or perhaps finally getting around to that screenplay you have always wanted to write. But, take the time and take back your power.

Secondly, as expressed by Dam is that it really is okay we don’t have a normal schedule right now. It just might allow you to dig back and find your inner child – that kid in you who loved to play until your mom or dad called you inside the house when the sunset on the horizon.

“There was a time you were curious. If you could go back to that child what would you discover? Identify new ways to fill your time.”

And lastly, she states find a way to just stop and connect to you in the present moment.
