Are you ready to heal?
As our country shifts through the turmoil of natural disasters and gun violence words of encouragement can possibly spark catalytic change and healing. So when Pastor John Gray delivered a powerful message to media he had the room’s undivided attention.
Pastor John Gray stopped by the Lincoln Hotel in Midtown on Monday. He led a powerful discussion and promoted his show “The Book of John Gray.” This is the show’s second season on the OWN network and follows the Gray family and his ministries. Pastor Gray and his wife Aventer spoke with the group about what makes him and his wife qualified to help people, how they manage social media comments and their message to their audience.
The show features intimate conversations between the couple and those who seek their advice. In the first episode, the couple takes time to counsel reality star Tammy Roman, who is seeking counseling to change the way audiences perceive her. “A lot of times I don’t know what I am going to say to people,” said Mrs. Gray, “but I will open my mouth and the Lord will speak through me.”
That said, Pastor Gray said he isn’t concerned about criticism, especially from the haters on social media. He said he doesn’t read comments because he doesn’t have time and most importantly he doesn’t care. “My philosophy is that the negative comments don’t define me and I’m not moved by the praise.” “My role is to preach an uncompromising gospel, learn how to love my wife and how to be a good father, so I don’t get caught up in social media.”
At the end of the day, Mrs. Gray wants their audience to know one thing. “We are just like everybody else but I think God has chosen a voice to my husband.”
The Book of John Gray airs on Saturdays at 10 PM on OWN.
