Some of our favorite Barden Bellas joined an early NYC screening of Universal Pictures’ “Pitch Perfect 3″ at iPic, where they took part in a lively Q&A with the audience.
Hosted by popular radio personality Angie Martinez, the lineup of Bellas included Ester Dean, Hana Mae Lee, and Chrissie Fit, and the ladies were excited to talk about the final chapter in their musical trilogy.
“I didn’t know [Pitch Perfect 1] was gonna go to the movies,” said Dean, who plays vocal powerhouse Cynthia Rose, “I thought it was gonna go to DVD, and I thought ‘At least I did it girl, a DVD movie!’ and now it’s a trilogy!”
The tough choreography the ladies have to prep for the film’s musical numbers are not done in an overnight process. “For 3 weeks we do crazy dancing, crazy music, but a lot of times some of the music changes so we got to re-learn parts, change our our dancing. So we pretty much have a week and a half even though we have a month [of practice],” Hana Mae Lee explained, “But since the first movie we catch on a lot faster.”
“We were all legitimately crying during that final number. The director came up to me and was like ‘Chrissie are you OK? It looks like your dog died!’” said Chrissie Fit, who joined the cast as Flo in Pitch Perfect 2, “We all have formed such a great bond together and we love each other so much, we would do these movies forever.”
Pitch Perfect 3, which also stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Elizabeth Banks, hits theaters December 22nd
