Aisha McShaw was tired of wearing other people’s clothes, so she created her own.
McShaw launched her 2018 ready to wear spring collection on Wednesday at the Prince George Ballroom. The small lobby of the ballroom was packed from wall to wall with guests sipping wine waiting for the show to begin. McShaw said she was tired of wearing other people’s labels so she quit her day job and started creating her own.
“I always loved to draw and sketch as a child so I figured I would take it to another level,” said McShaw. The line features pieces that reflect old Hollywood and are timeless, it offers beautiful floral patterns, striking solid colors and sequence. “It’s just all the things that I love,” said McShaw. “We use lovely fabric, we have prints, some pleating, we do it all.”
The line consists of dresses, one pieces, skirts and tops but there is one item that McShaw is especially proud of. “My favorite piece is the leather corset” said McShaw, “I just love that corset!”
The line is available now for purchase but you won’t be able to just find it just anywhere. “I’m going to stick to custom orders and trunk shows” said McShaw. “I want my customers to have a personal experience and I want to set them apart from the world.”
