Love is rare in the year 2024 but so is the coherence in Summer Shelton’s new movie.
Love may be blind but it seems that this film is also tone deaf with a talented cast that seems to overstay its welcome in the wrong ways possible.
The film revolves around two former flames named Sara and Joseph who get back together for a weekend after a long hiatus apart. It seems that after all of this time apart, the two still have feelings for each other.
Writer and director Summer Shelton begins with a poignant theme but the material seems to devolve into an overlong, sappy movie that should have just been a half-hour CW episode.
The sad part is that the film doesn’t seem to stand out from any of the other romance films and seems to be more preoccupied with hearing itself talk than trying to say something new.
In conclusion, this film has a talented cast but is a very superficial and vapid love story that doesn’t seem to know where it’s trying to aim.
