On April 26th, The Knockturnal attended the world premiere of Netflix’s ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story‘ at the Regency Village Theatre in LA. The brand-new series is a prequel to Shondaland’s hugely popular ‘Bridgerton,’ giving audiences a deeper dive into the life of Queen Charlotte and her marriage to King George of England.
The red carpet was a decadent affair perfect for the royal occasion — from passed cocktails and appetizers to elaborate floral displays. Fashion was a defining feature of the event, with a variety of stunning, eye-catching ball gowns, crowns, and accessories reminiscent of the ‘Bridgerton’ universe. Even Lady Whistledown would approve of the stunning luxury and vibrant atmosphere.
Prior to the screening, we spoke to cast members Tunji Kasim, Sam Clemmett, and Golda Rosheuvel — Queen Charlotte herself — on the red carpet.
The actors shared a buzzing excitement for the highly anticipated series, pinpointing unique qualities of their individual characters. Golda Rosheuvel highlighted the darker tones of the series that give audiences a closer look into Charlotte’s fascinating upbringing and royal love story.
In addition to the cast, notable attendees included Creator and Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes, Executive Producer Betsy Beers, Executive Producer and Director Tom Verica, Co-Executive Producer Julia Quinn, along with guests Alicia Keys, Debbie Allen, James Pickens Jr., Davina Potratz, Nolan Gerard Funk, Monique Coleman, Stacie Greenwell, Amanda Kloots, Alexis Knapp, Kim Racer, and many more.
