Los Angeles based luxury sneaker company, Woollier, presented their new collection this morning to kick off New York Men’s Fashion Week.
By producing extremely limited numbers of their Italian handmade shoes in the finest leathers available, Woollier is coveted by many sneaker lovers around the world.
Their new collection, the “S/D” collection, pulls inspiration from a variety of places, mainly the silhouette of a boxer’s shoes in the ring. The original high-top shoe, dubbed “the Cambrian” was the basis for the two subsequent styles: “the Cambrian Low Top” and “the Royal”. Unlike the Cambrian models, the Royal features a looped collar inspired by the juxtaposition of the Book of Revelations- referencing the humility of the elders casting their crowns before the thrown.
Creative director Aaron Childress calls this design the “flagship sneaker” of Woollier’s first collection and says “to be great and yet recognize something greater than yourself is powerful”.
Inspired by the concept of fine art prints, each shoe is labeled with its production number- limited to 350 units in each style and color way- to give the customer a sense of personalization and uniqueness. Colors are limited to Bianco, Mogano, and Nero.
