The new and delicious young adult drama packed Paramount + show “School Spirits” is a show I didn’t know I needed.

It follows Maddie who is played by Peyton List in what is considered her afterlife. Maddie is currently in the afterlife investigating her disappearance and getting adjusted to the fact that she is stuck in a place she recognizes but does not understand. I can’t give it all away so get ready to get spooked and play detective alongside a few talented actors like: Peyton List, Sarah Yarkin, Nick Pugliese Kristian Flores, Kiara Pichardo, Spencer MacPherson, Rainbow Wedell and Milo Manheim, every Thursday for the next few weeks. There will be 2 new episodes released each week. so you will have time in between to find out what exactly happened to Maddie….

With that said, if you are wondering where the idea of a show called “School Spirits” came about, look no further. I had the pleasure of talking to the creators of the show Nate Trinrud and Megan Trinrud who told us what inspired the show, and why we should all be watching it right now. Nate believes that both him and  Megan are both individuals who “like to find the light and levity in darkness.” Which is great because, I believe adding a bit of humor and darkness is the perfect combination of what makes a great show. There are also complicated characters which show-runner Oliver Goldstick said was a bit of a challenge while developing the show. However, it is such a wonderful challenge to visualize and he believes that “many people can relate to these characters.

So get your popcorn ready and start watching “School Spirits” which is available on Paramount +.
