Winter in New York hits differently when you can rise above it literally. I was excited to attend an exclusive first-look event at Magic Hour, NYC’s largest all-season rooftop, to experience their newest seasonal installation: Magic Hour Mountain Lodge, now open through March 2026.
Located at Magic Hour at Moxy Times Square, the Mountain Lodge transforms the west terrace into a cozy alpine escape inspired by ski towns out West. Designed in collaboration with Geo Events, the space blends warm wood textures, snowy details, and playful winter accents all while offering sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline. The fully enclosed design means you can enjoy the experience rain, shine, or snow.
A Cozy Alpine Vibe in the Heart of the City
From the lodge-style entry dusted with “snow” to Magic Hour’s signature carousel dressed in winter details like icicles, pinecones, and sculpted white branches, the atmosphere feels thoughtful and inviting. Leather lounge seating with faux-sheep hide throws adds warmth and comfort, while the bar gives true après-ski energy right in the middle of Midtown.
There are standout photo moments throughout the space, including a rustic wooden doorway opening onto a snowy mountain backdrop. Whether you’re creating content or simply taking it all in, the visuals feel elevated without being overdone.
Seasonal Cocktails, Bites & a Soundtrack That Sets the Mood
The night I attended celebrated the launch with complimentary seasonal cocktails and bites, incredible skyline views, and a DJ set that tied everything together. It was one of those evenings where the energy felt effortless good music, great people, and a setting that didn’t need much extra.
The seasonal menu leans fully into winter comfort, offering indulgent desserts and creative cocktails. From winter-inspired espresso martinis to white hot chocolate topped with marshmallows toasted tableside, the experience is designed to engage all the senses.
More Than a Rooftop Moment
Magic Hour Mountain Lodge is more than just a visual experience. Throughout the season, guests can enjoy DJ nights, Winter Olympic watch parties, influencer pop-ups, brand collaborations, and other alpine-themed moments. The space is also available for private events and full buyouts, making it ideal for birthdays, holiday celebrations, corporate gatherings, and creative shoots.
Weekend brunch is available every Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and a weekday happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. perfect for unwinding after work.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for something different this winter whether it’s a night out, a brunch date, or a content-friendly escape Magic Hour Mountain Lodge is worth the visit. It’s cozy, elevated, and thoughtfully done and it’s here through March 2026, so there’s plenty of time to experience it.
Thank you to Tao Group Hospitality and the Magic Hour team for the invitation and a wonderful evening.
