SAINT in the East Village is officially open.
If you are looking for a one-stop-shop, a restaurant that offers incredible food and a night’s worth of entertainment then SAINT is the spot for you. You will sit and enjoy a delicious meal in their upstairs dining area and then be taken to the speakeasy downstairs for an evening of fun.
The new restaurant is the hotspot in the East Village neighborhood offering American food with a global twist, by the unbelievable Chef Nicholas Cox. Cox has an interest in Latin American cuisine and this shines through in each and every ingredient of your plate.
The menu did not disappoint, our meal began with a series of different exquisite appetizers including, a mezze platter with fresh dips whipped blue cheese and date spread, and beetroot tzatziki. This lighter plate was followed by my personal favorite dish the lobster gratin, prepared with fingerling potatoes, manchego mornay, capers, crispy shallots, and old bay breadcrumbs, it was simply to die for. For our main course, we shared the spinach capanelle, a vegan pasta with vertage cheese, rosemary pangrattata, basil, mint, seared royal trumpet, and oyster mushrooms, the pasta melted in your mouth, i’ve never enjoyed a vegan pasta so much, I almost forgot it was vegan! The real treat came next with their 5th sin burger, adry-aged private hanger blend with gouda, bacon onion jam, chipotle mayo, and pickles on a parm-brioche; the burger melted in your mouth and was accompanied by the most incredible fries you have ever tasted, our table was fighting over them!
The trendy restaurant has a large outdoor eating space along with a multi-room dining area indoors, so whether you have a big or small group, SAINT has space for you. The design of the restaurant is well thought out with exposed brick walls and a large marble bar surrounded by green velvet bar stools, encouraging visitors to want to come into the restaurant and stay awhile.
“We are wanting to the vibe of our restaurant to be grit meets glam,” said Paige Concepts, owner of the restaurant.
The best and most unique part of SAINT is the speakeasy downstairs. “We want to be a one stop shop for our customers,” said Concepts, “people should be able to come here and not have to leave.” This shines through in the design of the restaurant. Upon finishing dinner, customers are able to venture downstairs and be greeted by a completely different bar with a different menu (debuting our favorite the Swan Lake drink, served in a glass shaped like a swan), and an underground speakeasy vibe.
Not only can individuals enjoy the speak easy downstairs, but SAINT also offers multiple rooms in which individuals can rent out for private events.
SAINT is the exciting and trendy new restaurant that you should be be booked for your next date night or girls night out. You are not going to want to miss it!
