On the 21st of this month, WEtv threw a bash at The Skylark in New York City in honor of a new season of their hit reality show Braxton Family Values. The show premiered tonight at 9 p.m. EST.
One of the show’s stars, the effervescent Traci Braxton, was the center of attention amongst other celebs and guest such as Flavor Flav, Ice T and Coco, Love & Hip Hop: New York’s Yandy Smith, and more!
The show originally premiered in 2011 and follows the lives of the Braxton sisters: Tamar, Toni, Traci, Trina, and Towanda. With the series on its sixth season, one can’t be sure what to expect. Luckily, in the midst of flashing lights, Traci was able to describe this season in just one word; “Ridiculous,” she exclaims.
“We have new faces,” Traci shares, “True story.” At the time it didn’t add up. However, with all the hint dropping going on, on Instagram, we can guess that Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Phaedra Parks, who was also at the premiere party, will be on the show.
The show is adored by its viewers because it’s relatable, authentic, and consistent on and off screen; which is also why Yandy is a fan. “I don’t feel like it’s an edited, super manufactured show. It’s real to the family dynamic I experience with my family.”
