Last week The Knockturnal attended L.A. Reid’s exclusive Hit List showcase at Highline Ballroom!
Co-founded by L.A. Reid and Charles Goldstuck, HitCo Entertainment is L.A. Reid’s latest musical venture, an independent label. Last week’s Hit List showcase featured 5 new artists signed to the blossoming label including SkinnyFromThe9, Brianna, Klondike Blondie, LightSkinKeisha and Coca Vango. The event was hosted by Entrepreneur and 1AM Vibes Founder YesJulz and featured prominent New York DJs Odalys and DJ Spade. Many notable executives, fans, influencers and writers were in attendance including L.A. Reid himself, celebrating the developing artists on his latest roster.
LightSkinKeisha kicked things off and got the crowd warmed up with her set which included pulling guest performers and even other acts from the lineup like Coca Vango on stage. After Coca did a few songs, Keisha returned to finish her set before handing the mic off to Klondike Blonde, whose set was as bubbly as her sound and featured back up dancers in overalls. Up next was Brianna who’s acoustic, soft-spoken set was a refreshing change in tempo, followed by SkinnyFromThe9.
If the showcase was any indicator, HitCo is a musical force to be reckoned with and we expect to keep hearing bright new talent along with vets like Outkast’s Big Boi and Fifth Harmony’s Dinah Jane.
