DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryson Tiller have recently released their “Wild Thoughts” video and the song is everywhere. Literally everywhere. The track is a remix of Santana’s iconic “Maria, Maria” song that was originally released back in 2007. The original is obviously a gem, but according to the stats, DJ Khaled’s remake of the song might be tied in terms of YouTube views very soon.
The song will be on DJ Khaled’s Grateful and was written by the trio, PartyNextDoor and DJ Khaled’s infant son Asahd. Yes, the baby is on the writing credits. The video is filled with fun and lots of energy. We get to see Rihanna in all her great fits, dancing, singing and having a genuinely good time. There is a clear emphasis on the guitar sample that Khaled uses from Santana, as the camera zooms in on the guitarist every time the riff comes on in the song. It screams summertime, with all of the people dancing and having a genuinely good time while getting ‘white girl wasted on that brown liquor’ aka D’USSÉ.
