On a crisp October morning, W Hotels took over the iconic Empire Diner in Chelsea for the “Whatever Whenever Diner,” a 24-hour event celebrating the brand’s fresh, inclusive approach to all-inclusive travel.
The experience was designed to reflect W Hotels’ modern philosophy that highlights community and creativity over convention and predictability. The new concept moves away from the image of dated buffets and generic resort stays, offering something sleek, intentional, and connection-focused instead.
At breakfast, guests were greeted by the comforting aroma of fresh roast during a Dominican coffee ritual led by Gente de la Isla. As steam rose from our mugs, we learned about the art of roasting and pour-over brewing. The breakfast menu included buttery scones, buckwheat pancakes with berries, and a savory omelet topped with feta, tomato, and roasted potatoes. It was the kind of morning that reminds one all you really need is good coffee and company.
The event unfolded over 24 hours with a lunch and dinner service after our cozy breakfast. By nightfall, the Empire Diner had transformed into an intimate pseudo night club with a groovy DJ and zesty cocktails.
