Wednesday night, W Hotels Worldwide and The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) invited us to celebrate with cocktails for an intimate screening premiere of “With Mustard”, a short film by Lucio Castro.
Lucio Castro is a part of the current class of CFDA {Fashion Incubator} designers (following the steps of Public School and Prabal Gurung). Castro is known for his clean aesthetics in menswear and passion in building character through clothing. The contemporary menswear designer takes inspiration transcending across creative platforms, such as his cinematic spirit for filmmaking.
Fashion Incubator designers are provided with a creative business environment to foster creative potential to grow and sustain their business. In order to integrate the designers into the New York Fashion community, the developmental program has partnered with W Hotels Worldwide to provide support them into domestic and international markets. The W brand is also helping in providing exposure including hosting on property runway shows and presentations to show its love for fashion and fostering emerging talent.
The comedic and original short film,”With Mustard” is influenced by the designer’s infatuation with the color mustard and tells the story of a bizarre legendary music duo. The cast features Lucas Langelotti, Mary Ann Siwek, Marty Whittle, Almerry Martins, and Joseph Ortiz.
