Last Tuesday, “Verano Alteranativo”, BMI’s co-sponsored Latin American Music Conference was held at DROM in the East Village.
The artist line-up had a wide range of music genres including rock, pop, folk, jazz and more. The audience gravitated to the stage to experience the tunes and great energy coming from the performers that graced the stage.
Maréh kicked off the night with his pop ballads, giving the audience a sincere acoustic performance with some conversation in between songs. He was then followed by Cheryl Rivera, who was fully backed by a full band. Her performance drew the audience’s attention to her folk songs as she danced along to her songs in proper bohemian attire. Mitre then graced the stage with their amazing Latin Rock, the duo coexisted on stage and provided eclectic sound. Up next was Mirella Cesa who delivered Latin pop sounds with GRAMMY nominee Mr. Pauer right by her side with drum skills that made the audience feel their presence in the room. Vivanativa, the Puerto Rican Band closed out the show with a killer Latin rock set, the guitarist, and bassist backing up vocalist with amazing sounds.
